this shoulderhead boy. German
dollmakers had their variations of
the mold & this doll is attributed
to Simon & Halbig. Choice modelling
especially apparent in the fine
shape of his face, full cheeks, &
closed-mouth; he has cafe-au-lait
molded & painted wavy hair sweeping
across his brow. Fine-quality
bisque, feathered brows, lovely
stationary blue glass eyes, c/m with
slight smile. Orig. gusseted kid
body in excellent cond. with perfect
bisque forearms.
Costumed head-to-toe in antique
finery as a well-dressed young man
of his times in a two-pc., lined,
black wool frock coat &
pleated trousers (few
moth nibbles), beautifully-tailored cotton
